Hi BiciRace,
It has been a really amazing vittoria. [Read: Pinotti Campione Italiano] Last year I raced to win, and crashed in the final, this time I raced to win and to ride a good time, and I rode a time that even surprised the Italian team director [4'36"60].
Working in Padova paid off a lot. Now I will refocus on the road (after lots of work on the track it's not easy) and will use the Tour of Germany as a good preparation.
Then I will go where eagles fly; Passo Bernina (2315 meters), where I will spend two weeks in mid-August for an altitude training camp with the national team. That's practically a new experience and if it will go as I hope I think that after the Tour of Poland I can be more competitive than last year at the Worlds in Madrid. I also think I can have the legs to be a part of the road team but we will see.
See you soon!
Marco
P.S. What a blow the Landis news was. I am very sorry for him, but these kind of things have to happen to clean up cycling. I hope the UCI will go deeply also in the Operación Puerto matters so then I can think about the podium in Salzburg.
