Here we are in the neighborhood of Los Angeles. We arrived after a long plane trip through Paris last Sunday. [read: Pinotti to Los Angeles]
The following day, after unpacking all the bicycles, I enjoyed five hours riding along the Pacific Coast Highway, crossing hundreds of traffic lights. It helped me to recover from the numbness of the trip and to have a look at this part of the States.
Tuesday we trained twice: in the morning we did a three hour ride near the Redondo Beach area, then in the afternoon we built our confidence on the beautiful wood track at the Home Depot Center [LA Velodrome], 5 kilometers from our hotel. It's a bit faster than Valencia track, and I liked riding and testing myself. I feel good considering I am still a bit jet-lagged.
This morning [Wednesday] we trained again on the road and then immediately did one hour on the track, testing the start of the pursuit. Our track training depends on the schedule the organizations assigned to each country. At the hotel many other nations are arriving and the race atmosphere is building. In 48 hours I will make my debut in the Track World Cup and I look forward to it.
Then there will be time again to have a deeper look at California.
bye,
Marco
