Hi BiciRace,
I've been back home after the Worlds in Madrid, and I am slowly approaching the end of the 2005 season. It's been a wonderful season, lots of new experiences and new races. I am one of those who think the ProTour has more advantages than disadvantages. But there will be another time to think about those things.
After Worlds I enjoyed easy rides together with my training mates (mostly Bramati, Milesi and Cortinovis), about 3 to 4 hrs a day. Then I raced in Trofeo Cimurri last Saturday. I really had a good performance with good feelings, that will push me until the my last race, which will be Firenze-Pistoia.
Last Monday I wanted to have a look, with Bramati, at the final kilometers of the Giro di Lombardia, but after 20 minutes it began to rain heavily, so we turned our bikes back towards home. Bramati received a phone call from Bettini after his wonderful victory in Zurich. Bettini said to him that he will focus on that race [Lombardia].
It seems I will only see the Lombardia route only during the race, because now I will race Coppa Sabatini and GP Beghelli, hoping to gain a place for Piemonte and Lombardia [13 and 15 October, respectively]. I want to race them to warm up for Chrono des Herbiers. It's hard to train with the right intensity, and racing keeps me focused.
Bye
Marco
