Double Training Days

Hi BiciRace,
I'm back from Germany [Deutschland Tour] now. My training for the last few weeks has been hard and various. Some recent stages were not so good for my morale, but after the crash in Benelux, I wasn't feeling too good and so I decided to take some days to do light rides. Then I began my schedule which included some track training. I am aiming for both the Word's TT [22 September] and the Italian Champs individual pursuit which will take place on September 6th. I had to skip San Francisco in order to do the individual pursuit, and have been training properly for this kind of effort. Almost every day I have been doing double training, with road in the morning and track in the afternoon. There has been some experimentation with the track bike, since it's not my personal bike and I have to adapt myself to it - so that took a while to get used to. Track training is short but very hard and specific. Basically I rode about 1000 up to 2000 meters at high speed with short recovery, up to 10 times every afternoon. After that effort, I could barely go home and rest.

Now the main training is complete until next week when I will refine my conditions with some motor-pacing. This training will help me to refine my time trial skills and hopefully it will pay in the Worlds as well.

bye
Marco
