ciao,
I came back home after a really amazing week in the USA. I had hoped that the change of my previous program would work out for me, and I was right. I had beautiful feelings during the race, and it was like in a dream fighting with such great riders.

The only regrets were the time trial and the first stage when I threw away lots of energy in a hopeless breakaway. That's why I decided to forget the breakaway riding after the 3rd stage! And also in that circumstance [stage 1] I maybe spent too much energy in the first 60 kms. The stage race brought some dramatic moments, for the bad weather and thunderstorms, but in the end I was amazed! It's a strange thing to explain but I felt I had some super powers in some moments.

I improved well with climbing and on the way to Brasstown Bald I discovered a new me. I was able to struggle mentally. The week was really nice, also for the support of the US fans, for the beautiful landscape of Georgia, and I will never forget it! It has been one of the best organized races I've ever done.

Now I am really tired after the journey to Italy, that lasted almost 2 days from the start until I returned at home. Recovery will be my priority in the next few days. I feel like I'm on a mission on the way to the Giro! Bye, Marco
