Tomorrow's stage to the Pla-de-Beret awaits Gibo and the riders of the 93rd Tour de France. The stage, which finishes in Spain, will be a doozy because it marks the Tour's first mountaintop finish. The big boys of the Tour are going to come out and play and Gilberto Simoni will be there.

Talking with Joxean Matxin, Team DS, it is not too clear of what the team's method of attack will be. They have cards to play with Riccò, Marchante and as witnessed today, Rinero. Matxin will want to have representation in the early escapes but then make sure that Gibo is with the top men for the finish.

It is likely that any early escape will be reeled in and serious attacks will come on the 13 kilometer climb to the top of Pla-de-Beret. Gibo will need a mountain domestique, like Piepoli in the Giro, to help launch offensives. Look for Marchante or Rinero to be at Simoni's side.

Stay tuned... Tomorrow is going to reshape the landscape of the 2006 Tour.
