Gilberto Simoni will be ready for the Tour de France stage 7 time trial, a 52 kilometer affair from Saint-Grégoire to Rennes. Scott, the frame supplier of the Spanish-Swiss Saunier Duval-Prodir Squadra, has prepared some special pink frames only for Simoni's use.

The frames, both road and crono, first appeared at the Giro d'Italia in May and are still the weapon of choice in Gibo's arsenal. Scott painted a their CR1 road frame and a Plasma crono frame specifically in honor of Gibo's past Giro wins and the 2006 race parcours: All pink frames with images of Italy's most recognized landmark, la Torre di Pisa, on the seat tube.

OK, Simoni is not a time trialist like his Scot teammate, David Millar, but he still deserves a great frame with a beautiful paint scheme. We see Gibo everyday on his CR1 frame, and tomorrow we hope the pink Plasma will push him to a great performance.

Dai Gibo!
