"It is going well with Gilberto and all the other members in the team," said Gilberto Simoni's young teammate, Riccardo Riccò. The 22 year-old Italian is riding his first Tour de France and is gaining a lot of experience by being at the side of a two-time Giro d'Italia champion.

"The stage the other day, finishing in Valkenburg was nuts, there were so many people," continued Riccò. "I was happy because I was able to finish with the front group. I have not done the Amstel Gold before so having the advice of Simoni helped out. Riding here at the Tour, for Millar and Simoni is a big asset for me."

Gibo finished today's "sprint stage" into Caen safe in the front group. The big mountain action is still to come where we can expect to see a lot of the helpful Italian.
