The 26th Vuelta a Murcia will cover 643.2 kilometers of sunny southern Spanish land. There are five stages from 1 to 5 March, including one time trial.

Affairs kick off with two fairly mellow stages to Las Torres de Cotillas (stage 1) and Alhama de Murcia (stage 2). The third stage offers a 21.3K time trail in the city of Jumilla before the mountains appear in the next day. Stage 4 will be the ball buster, three Cat 1 climbs: Los Altos de Campo de San Juan, Espuña and the finish to Collado Bermejo. The final day, stage 5, is the usual circuit that starts and ends in the capital of the region, Murcia.

Eight Spanish based teams will take to the start, Caisse d'Epargne-Illes Balears, Liberty Seguros-Würth, Euskaltel-Euskadi, Kaiku, 3 Molinos Resort, Comunidad Valenciana, Andalucia-Paul Versan and Relax-GAM, and six non-Spanish teams, Lampre-Fondital, Panaria-Navigare, Discovery Channel, Rabobank, Gerolsteiner and Unibet.com.
