Aaron Olson and Saunier Duval-Prodir Updates
Stage List,
Stage Profile
Aaron Olson is darn near finishing his first Grand Tour. Tomorrow he will probably be drinking bubbly with the rest of his Saunier Duval-Prodir boys, celebrating a complete Giro, two stage wins with Piepoli and a third overall with Simoni. Olson had his part to play in all of these successes... Bravo.
BiciRace.com was hunkered down on the Passo di Gavia for a few hours, waiting for the race to arrive. The leaders passed and then Olson finally came by with the gruppo. We then took a super-secretive road to the top of the Passo del Mortirolo to see the race pass. The leaders went by but then we had to go, not waiting long enough for Olson's gruppetto and instead racing our car to the finish in Aprica.
For the day Olson finished 45 minutes behind, with around 40 others, but he can rejoice in a Grand Tour nearly complete.
