Aaron Olson and Saunier Duval-Prodir Updates

Stage Profile
A snow covered wonderland greeted Leonardo Piepoli to his second stage win in the 89th Giro d'Italia. The rider from Puglia attacked Basso in the last kilometer to snatch stage 17, finishing on the Passo di Furcia.
Due to heavy snow on the passes, race organizers cut the Passo delle Erbe and the finish to Plan de Corones, but this did not stop Saunier Duval-Prodir from taking control. Olson, Mori (in bandages), Pinotti and the entire crew set an infernal pace to ensure a team win on the mountain top finish.
Aaron Olson is getting his first taste of Italy's big mountain passes. Even though the riders did not cover Corones, the Furcia gave a brutal hammering to all the riders. Olson will try to recover tonight for tomorrow's stage to Gemona del Friuli. The stage, without a big mountain top finish, will be very "impegnativo". There are many undulations, including a Cat 1 and two Cat 2 climbs.
