Aaron Olson and Saunier Duval-Prodir Updates
Stage List,
Stage Profile
It was a good stage 10 for the Saunier Duval-Prodir Crew: putting both Litu and Pinotti in the escape eased the stress and pressure on Simoni in the peloton for the final 10 difficult kilometers. Pino ended up with seventh in Peschici.
Early in the morning, at the team's hotel, we caught up with Aaron Olson while he was having breakfast. "Oh, I can barely keep my eyes open," said a tired Aaron. We reminded him that tomorrow is a rest day and to drink plenty of caffè each day.
How is it riding in the Euro peloton? "It is fine. I feel good. The other guys give me space to do my work for Simoni. There is a lot of respect in the peloton. It feels just as comfortable as riding in the peloton in the USA."
BiciRace made some observations on the team:
- Pinotti is the first down at the breakfast table each day, and the first to leave.
- Simoni is the last.
- Simoni enjoys spaghetti al bianco, with eggs and Prosciutto.
- Room numbers are listed on a paper posted in the hotel hallway. Every staff member and rider's room number can be found, all except for Simoni's.
- All of the riders are in good spirits, especially Mori and Litu
