Alessandro Petacchi received a quintessential textbook lead-out right to the line to nab stage 3 today.
Ale-Jet looks like he's dialing his form in time for the Worlds. If he has a team built around him (a la Cipollini in 2002) he will be tough to beat. It's hard to contend with a lead-out train like that.
Meantime, back at the Vuelta ... Bradley McGee successfully defended his lead and retains his gold Jersey for another day. He looks likely with a 36 second lead, to hold onto it for the next few days.
