Kim Kirchen (Fassa Bortolo) rocked the Tour de Pologne, holding his own in the afternoon TT to win the overall tour. Kirchen, who won the morning stage, finished only 30 seconds down in the afternoon to the stage winner, Thomas Dekker. The 21 year-old Rabobank rider stormed over the course, the only rider to go under 31 minutes.

The afternoon uphill TT was the last stage of the Tour de Pologne. Kirchen had to cover the 19K course and not lose more than 11 seconds to Weening. The finale of the stage was all vertical, giving the opportunity for huge gains or losses in time. Kirchen only lost six seconds to Weening, holding on to the race lead.

Di Luca, who came to this race for ProTour points, rode well in the TT. He did not tear up the course, but he limited damage, slipping from 3rd to 5th on the GC. The spark that he had in the spring seems to be lacking after a long season in the saddle. However, he will come away from this stage race with some ProTour points in hand.

We really have to look at Julich and Dekker in this stage. Julich just missed out on the stage victory, but did move himself up a couple of notches on the GC. BiciRace.com can't get enough of Julich, the guy has performed so well all year. But maybe we will shift our focus over to the young Dekker. This kid rocks, make no mistake about it. The young Dutch rider took his first ProTour win but many more are expected from him. He has been the topic of discussion all year around the BiciRace.com office.
