Boonen Wins Little Flanders in a Fine Fashion

Tom Boonen (Quick-Step) won yesterday's E3 Prijs Vlaanderen after a long break with Andreas Klier (T-Mobile). The two attacked with 48K remaining and continued hammering until the finish line when Boonen easily took the sprint from the German Andreas Klier. The move, initiated by Klier, looked to be suicidal but paid off in victory. Chasing from behind all the way to the line, there was a group of five hard-men: Peter Van Petegem, Nico Mattan, David Kopp, Erik Dekker and Steffen Wesemann.

This was Boonen's second time to win the E3 Prijs Vlaanderen and is another very prestigious win for the fast Belgian to add to his Palmares. Boonen is proving to be the man to watch for the upcoming Tour of Flanders, Gent-Wevelgem and Paris-Roubaix.
