EICMA - Casati Frames

BiciRace.com had the pleasure to talk with the Casati family when we were at EICMA in Milano. Casati has been producing frames for a long time from its headquarters in Monza. This is the same town where the great Gianni Bugno is from, and as a dilettante he raced on the famous Casati frames.

Two of their offerings caught our eyes, one was the new M:7.9 frame. This frame uses Dedacciai 7.9 aluminum hydroformed tubing. The tubing is ultra-light, Dedacciai claims a weight of 790g per tubeset. Casati offers the frame in some slick color options, or if you are really concerned about the extra grams then they offer raw brushed finish.

At the other end of the spectrum was Casati's Bellagio. The Bellagio is a cool city-bike with that great Italian flair. One item we were impressed with was the built-in rack. It flowed smoothly into the main frame, making it cool and functional. The Bellagio was finished off nicely with leather grips, Campagnolo components and a carbon flat bar.
