Riccardo Riccò will add to a strong Saunier Duval-Prodir squadra in 2006. The 22 year-old from Modena has come to an agreement to ride with the Spanish-Swiss squadra. It will be Riccò's first outing on the professional level, and he should learn a lot from riders like Gilberto Simoni and Marco Pinotti.
This last April Riccò really impressed the team when he won two stages and the overall of the Settimana Ciclistica Lombarda. This is the same short stage in Bergamo that the Texan, Lance Armstrong, won back in 1991.
BiciRace.com has confirmed the signing of Guido Trentin (29). The Italian has spent the last five years with the French outfit, Cofidis (2001-2005). This year Trentin has won a stage of the Tour de la Région Wallonne and a stage of the GP de Ciclismo de Torres Vedras. The signing of Trentin appears to pave the way for his old British buddy at Cofidis, David Millar. Earlier today we confirmed with Matteo Algeri, despite reports to the contrary, that Millar has not yet signed for he yellow squadra. Stay Tuned!

Ivan Basso, second in this year's Tour de France, has spent the month of November relaxing with his family and keeping his fitness in check. Part of the month he was riding on his cyclocross bike but the rest of the time was spent in the swimming pool. The water was a great way for Basso to utilize some unused muscles and get over his fears of swimming.
Since joining Team CSC, Ivan Basso has taken part in the team's annual 'survival camp'. The riders are often subjected to the open water under cold and dark conditions, which is quite daunting for the Italian, who has never felt at home in this element. Now, with the time spent in the pool Basso should be ready for the upcoming camp in Denmark (2 to 8 December).
The traditional outing for the squadra is run by marines and the 1996 Tour champion, Bjarne Riis. The idea is to build team bonding that will help during the long and challenging season. The camp has proven so successful that other teams have not tried to copy the format. Early this week Jan Ullrich and his T-Mobile boys were partaking in a similar, but less challenging, camp.
