Team CSC Tops ProTour

Team CSC has proved time and time again that they have a strong squadra, and this is reflected in the ProTour classification. The Danish squadra has won the 2005 team classification for the ProTour ahead of Rabobank. Today's Giro di Lombardia is the last ProTour race but CSC already has the competition locked down.

The riders do all of the racing, but behind them is a motivated Bjarne Riis, CSC team manager. "It is a great victory for us as a team to finish this season as the best team in the world. We have had a fantastic year with numerous wins and we have continued to make our mark up front in the big races," said Riis via Team CSC.

"To be the best team has been one of our goals for a long time now, even though the new points system took some getting used to. Regardless of how you look at it though, we are this season's most successful team. The fact that we have now achieved this goal is a great triumph for the entire team ... It is the first year of the new ProTour, and I am proud that our team is the very first to enter history at the top of the list." Tonight in Como the team will be awarded at a special ProTour party.
