Heavy hitter, Joseba Beloki, is on the eve of his first grand tour for quite some time. He's back with his old master Manolo Saiz and feeling good about his major 2005 objectives: The Giro d'Italia and Tour de France. BiciRace.com recently had a chat with the affable Basque and found out his thoughts on everything from Manolo Saiz to what he does in his free time.
Interviewed by Paco of BiciRace.com

Joseba, thanks for joining BiciRace.com. You have returned to your former DS, Manolo Saiz, after a brief absence for a few years. How does it feel to be back with a Manolo Saiz team?
Joseba Beloki:  I am very happy because in reality I never really wanted to leave. Now I have returned to the people with whom I have always wanted to be.

Tour de Romandie

Now Just two weeks to go to the Giro D'Italia, many teams will be using the Tour de Romandie as a final lead-up to the season's first grand tour. The Italian teams, in particular, are using the short stage race as a form test for their top riders. Leading the Italian contingent are Giro champion Damiano Cunego (Lampre-Caffita), two-times Romandie winner Dario Frigo (Fassa Bortolo), Stefano Garzelli (Liquigas) as well as top fast-men Alessandro Petacchi (Fassa Bortolo), missing in action is Mario Cipollini (Liquigas-Bianchi).

Here is the full Liquigas-Bianchi line up: Stefano Garzelli, Michael Albasini, Dario Andriotto, Dario Cioni, Daniele Colli, Oscar Mason, Vladimir Miholjevic, Marco Milesi.
Lampre-Caffita is packing heat with this solid line-up: Damiano Cunego, Alessandro Ballan, Paolo Fornaciari, Gerrit Glomser, David Loosli, Evgeni Petrov, Marius Sabaliauskas, Alessandro Spezialetti

Sunday's victory in Liège-Bastogne-Liège was a massive coup for the Kazakh, Alexandre Vinokourov. Already an Olympic silver medallist, a Tour de France podium finisher and an Amstel Gold Race winner, Vino has now added one of the five 'monuments' of the classics to his palmarès. An impressive achievement for an impressive rider.
