Speaking of La Flèche Wallonne, this beautiful race starts tomorrow. "The Walloon Arrow" will set off from Charleroi as a mid-week appetizer. It serves your fix between the Amstel Gold Race and Liège-Bastogne-Liège.
As a part of the so-called "Ardennes Weekend", it's a parcours which offers the boys with climbing legs a chance to show themselves. Off the heels of Danilo Di Luca’s success in the Amstel Gold Race, the Liquigas-Bianchi team will pack a strong punch for La Flèche Wallonne. Liquigas-Bianchi will bring in heavy-hitter Franco Pellizotti, who has already won the Coppi e Bartali/Settimana Internazionale this year, along with the "Killer", Danilo Di Luca.
Di Luca will not sacrifice himself for victory, "I won’t look for the victory at all costs. If I happen to be in good position in the final, I will fight. The Flèche’s route is very suitable for me, but I confirm that Liège-Bastogne-Liège is the race I like the more."
Pellizotti cuts-in with some good words for Di Luca, "I think that Danilo is the favorite rider, he is in great condition, both physically and psychologically, and last year he already demonstrated how suitable this race is for him."
