BiciRace.com caught up with Levi Leipheimer recently to have a chat. Levi is putting the finishing touches on his build up for the 2005 Tour de France but took time out of his busy preparation to answer our somewhat silly questions.
Interviewed by The Dust Devil of BiciRace.com
BiciRace.com: Do you usually room with the same person? Are you an easy guy to room with, or do you like everything just so?
Levi Leipheimer: No, I don't always room with the same person. I suppose I am easy to room with. I don't play loud music or anything like that.
BR: Describe the contents of your suitcase when you travel. What is one thing you cannot go without?
LL: The two things I can't go without are an eye mask and earplugs. My suitcase also contains clothing, cycling gear, my iPod Shuffle, Otypgen, and ProTech Sunscreen.
BR: How fanatical are you about your bike? Are you the type to always be fiddling with the bars or the saddle height, or do you leave it?
LL: I am always fiddling with my bike.
BR: How is the food different on a German team, as compared to a Dutch team or an American Team? Better or worse?
LL: The main difference is the water; it's better. Otherwise it seems like it's healthier. There are fewer sweets.
BR: How old were you the first time you shaved your legs?
LL: 16
BR: Do you prefer white socks or black socks for bike riding? Does it depend on the time of year?
LL: Light blue
BR: Which do you prefer: climbing or descending?
LL: Climbing
BR: When you are trying to keep your weight down, what food or beverage is hardest for you to avoid?
LL: Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia Ice Cream
BR: Describe your relationship with coffee?
LL: I don't drink coffee.
BR: How do you want to be remembered as a rider after you retire?
LL: That I worked hard.
